During my Christmas stay at this hotel, two things stood out to me. First, the food was absolutely delicious. The breakfast and dinner options were plentiful and satisfying. I didn't even need to worry about lunch because the portions were so generous. Second, the staff were amazing. They were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable. They were attentive and always ready to assist with any request or question I had.
There were a few aspects that disappointed me during my stay. the hotel itself didn't live up to the pictures I saw online.

The location of this ryokan is not ideal for sightseeing, but they provide a shuttle bus to and from the stations, making transportation convenient. the rooms are beautifully designed and the onsen is a must-try, offering a breathtaking view. the service at the ryokan is impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff. the traditional Japanese 12-course meal is a highlight, offering a delicious and authentic dining experience. the ryokan provides a perfect opportunity to relax and immerse yourself in Japanese culture.
The hotel lacks sitting areas to relax in and the extensive number of steps may pose difficulties for unfit or elderly guests.

We absolutely loved the exclusivity and history of this gorgeous heritage property. The staff spoke excellent English and provided attentive service. The meals here were some of the best we had during our trip. The traditional Japanese experience, from the beautiful ryokan to the incredible public bath, was truly pampering. The hotel's shuttle service to downtown and proximity to the famous fox village made our stay even more memorable. The surrounding nature is truly soul-soothing.
Nothing to complain about at all.

The staff were friendly and helpful, always willing to assist. the location of the hotel was convenient, with easy access to nearby attractions and transportation. Another advantage was the delicious breakfast and dinner, which provided ample and tasty meals.
There were some minor issues with the room. the floors squeaked and moved slightly when walked on, which was quite annoying.
